The Humminbird 997C SI Combo uses revolutionary 800 kHz side imaging sonar with 180° coverage to 360' to either side and 150' down as well as DualBeam PLUS sonar with 20° and 60° beams for both wider coverage and better bottom definition down to 1,500'.

This unit includes accelerated real time sonar and echo enhancement technology for the instant capture of action and the sensitivity to track a jig to over 70' with a target separation of 2.5". The Humminbird 997C also has an external, 16-channel WAAS/EGNOS GPS receiver, and a built-in UniMap of USA inland lakes, rivers, and coastal areas. Customer Review: January 29, 2008 "I have only been on the lake twice with the new unit. I like the display a lot. I'm having some problems in getting the transducer adjusted. At first it would not read at high speed, over 15 MPH. I lowered the transducer some and it now reads at high speed 45 MPH. However, I do not get a clear return. I get the bottom reading but can not see fish. At slow speed the 80° response is great.

I get the V's for fish that I have not got from other units. I have only used the side image feature a little. I like what I have seen so far.I think that I will have to remount the transducer so I can set it lower into the water. It appears that the 80° feature is picking up bubbles and clouding the display when I get up to 5 - 10 MHP. The 200° reading is clear with the current transducer location. However, it does not pick up as many fish. If I can get the transducer set so the 80° reading is clear, I will be very happy with the unit. The display is bright and easy to read in sunlight. The map's displays are very good also." Daleala
